There is a major rumor rumor out of Boston today.

According to a report from one of the top Bruins' insiders in the business, CSN's Joe Haggerty, the Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney are preparing a massive offer sheet after multiple trades have failed to net the the true #1 defenseman they are desperate for.

It is believed that the Bruins have their eyes set on Winnipeg Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba, and it appears that the plan from Boston is to go big with a massive offer sheet worth upwards of $47 million one designed in such a way that the Jets can't match according to Haggerty.

This means that if Trouba were to sign, and the Jets were unable or unwilling to match the offer, the Bruins would be forced to give up four first round picks as a result, but Haggerty believes the price is worth it:

The real price for the Black and Gold would be surrendering four first round picks, but the Bruins have made five first round picks in the last two years while stockpiling their prospect cupboard. The B’s have also been hit-or-miss with their first round picks, so sacrificing a few of them for a surefire, young defenseman would theoretically be worth the price.

Sounds like we can expect something big from Boston.
