This is no surprise, Evander Kane's name has been mentioned in trade rumors since last season. During the last Trade Deadline, the Buffalo Sabres decided to hang on to the sniper, but it might be different this time around.

Kane, who has collected seven goals and 13 points in 14 games so far this season, has done nothing but drive his value up and things will get interesting as rival clubs fight to land the 26-year-old winger.

"If Kane keeps this up, he’s on pace to have roughly 30 goals and 55 points by the time the trade deadline rolls around, writes Jared Clinton of the Hockey News. "On an expiring contract, that has to make Kane one of the most attractive rental options for teams looking for an offensive injection."

Kane is in the last year of his contract and it might be hard to get an interesting return for a pure rental. However, a contract extension could now become an integral part of any trade talk. Therefore, rival teams will be willing to pay big to land Kane and ensure that he is part of that new team's future for long.

Kane is currently making $5.25 million, and an extension could see him earn north of $6 million per season on a long-term deal. And several teams would be willing to give him that for the offensive boost he will bring forth!
