Rumor: Three coaches on the hot seat at the end of the regular season.

It's the time of year when pundits begin to speculate on which coaches will and won't be back next season, and on Friday The Score's Cory Wilkins highlighted three names he feels are at risk this offseason. We're going to go over them in order of likelihood to be fired, starting with the one we feel is the most likely.

#1 Willie Desjardins - Vancouver Canucks.

Without a doubt the most obvious choice on the list, Desjardins has been under fire for months now and when team president Trevor Linden refused to back up his coach during a radio interview, many felt the writing was already on the wall. With the Canucks failing to make the playoffs this one feels all but inevitable.

#2 Lindy Ruff

The Dallas Stars head coach has been the victim of poor goaltending, but there are many who feel that won't be enough to save his job after he also failed to take his squad to the playoffs. Ruff has a talent-laden roster and as a result there is much less room for forgiveness in his case. Add to that fact that there are already rumors connecting for St. Louis Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock to Dallas and you have a recipe for a termination.

#3 Darryl Sutter

By far the most surprising name on the list, while Sutter's Kings have in fact struggled this season, and may even miss the playoffs, the legendary head coach just signed a multi-year extension which would make his termination a costly one. That being said there were rumors prior to that extension that both the Kings and Sutter were looking at their options, and perhaps the team will elect to move on from their two-time Stanley Cup winning coach.
