There are conflicting reports regarding a potential trade demand in the National Hockey League, but even in the best case scenario it sounds like a young NHL player has just about had it with his team.

There are a lot of rumors floating around the National Hockey League suggesting that 25-year-old defenseman Alex Petrovic has requested a trade from the Florida Panthers after being made a healthy scratch multiple times already this season.

Petrovic has openly expressed to the media that he feels the team simply does not have confidence in him, and the rumors suggest he took those frustrations directly to management in the hopes of getting a change of scenery on a new team.

The latest from TSN insider Bob McKenzie just moments ago however suggests that Petrovic may not have reached the point of demanding a trade yet, however even McKenzie acknowledges that Petrovic is losing patience.

"Petrovic has not asked for a trade, at least not yet, but he's obviously frustrated that he's been a healthy scratch and not in the Florida Panther's line up," said McKenzie on TSN's Insider Trading.

However despite the fact that McKenzie has not heard of Petrovic demanding a trade, he did acknowledge that the player's name was being mentioned in trade talks around the league.

"Petrovic's name is out there in trade talk."

In 11 games this season the tough young blue liner has 0 goals and 2 assists and a plus minus rating of -1.
