Since roughly the midway point of the 2015-2016 National Hockey League season people have been asking when Montreal Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien will be fired. Despite the calls for his job Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin has stuck by his coach, and rumors have suggested the organization intends to keep him on through next season as well.

Despite that, there are now rumors that suggest two possible replacements for Therrien are being looked at, and on Monday we received a little confirmation in regards to the likelihood of both possibilities.

First, former Montreal Canadiens player and coach, Guy Carbonneau, has been one of the men rumored to take Therrien's place since he met with the organization earlier this year as pressure was mounting on Bergevin. On Monday the CTV's Sean Coleman reported that Carbonneau was open and willing to listen to an offer for another NHL head coaching job.

"If somebody were to call, I would take the call," said Carbonneau.

The second rumor is by far the juiciest of the two as it not only involves a head coach currently under contract, but one under contract with a hated rival. According to a report from Jimmy Murphy, there is a "strong sense in Montreal" that if Boston Bruins head coach Claude Julien is let go, Bergevin would change his mind and make a play for Julien's services.

Needless to say a Boston Bruins head coach jumping ship to become the Canadiens coach in the very next season would only add more fuel to the fire of an already intense rivalry.
