Rumor: Two options on the table for Bennett

The ongoing struggles of forward Sam Bennett is sparking some speculation over his future with the Calgary Flames... The former first-round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft was held pointless in his first 13 games this season.

Cue to the trade chatter. Hockey Central at Noon panelist Doug MacLean believes Bennett might be better off being traded, since several clubs in the NHL would want to acquire him. MacLean has spoken with teams this summer that would like to get him.

The 21-year-old could make the most of a change of scenery. Several other NHL insiders have also suggested that the young forward would be better off playing elsewhere.

Will the Flames choose to (a) move Bennett before the Trade Deadline or (b) wait and evaluate his performance over this season and decide by next summer if he still fits into their plans?
