Rumor Update: NCAA star Kerfoot down to 3 teams
Keystone Press

Former Harvard University star Alex Kerfoot is officially on the open market. The New Jersey Devils draft choice elected to not sign with the team that drafted him after four seasons in the NCAA and is now free to sign with any team he chooses.

While initially courting offers from the Devils, Buffalo Sabres, Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights, Kerfoot has reportedly narrowed his list of teams down to three. Among the teams still in the running:

Vancouver Canucks
Montreal Canadiens
New York Rangers

Interesting. These are three very different teams. While the Canucks are clearly a rebuilding team with plenty of opportunity for Kerfoot, the Habs and Rangers are definitely teams in “win now” mode. Which makes the most sense for the 23-year-old sniper?
