Rumor: Vegas Golden Knights are reportedly looking to trade a defenseman!

The Vegas Golden Knights are reportedly looking to trade one of their defenseman next season. In an interview with Sportsnet's Luke Fox, Golden Knights beat writer Steve Carp mentioned George McPhee would "love" to move 27-year-old Luca Sbisa. 

Here is what he said, when he was asked what we should expect from the Vegas Golden Knights' GM:

"Vegas still holds 11 defencemen, nine of them lefties. McPhee would love to move Luca Sbisa. He’s 27 but he’s got a lot of money [owed to him],” Carp said. “I”m not sure if George didn’t overplay his hand a little bit in taking all these defencemen thinking he could flip ’em quickly for picks.”

Sbisa recorded two goals and 11 assists for 13 points in 82 games with the Vancouver Canucks. He was claimed by Vegas during the expansion draft, back in June. He still has one year left to his three-year, $10.8 million contract, and will earn $3.6 million next season.

He was drafted in the first round of the 2008 NHL draft, 19th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers. He played 465 career games, in which he amassed 16 goals and 72 assists for 88 points, as well as four points in 20 playoff games.
