Rumor: Veteran goalie uncertain about his future after major front office shake up.

The Buffalo Sabres made some sweeping changes to their personal on Thursday, announcing that they had fired both their head coach in Dan Bylsma as well as their general manager Tim Murray.

That move appears to already be having some major impacts on the Sabres roster, and now a report out of Sweden is claiming that goaltender Robin Lehner will not be joining Team Sweden for the World Championship .

The reason for Lehner's absence is what's truly interesting in this development, as Lehner has reportedly informed the Swedish media that he was in the middle of a contract negotiation with Murray at the time of his termination, and those talks being stalled completely are why he will not participate.. This of course leaves Lehner's status with the team in doubt as he is set to become a restricted free agent this summer, and could be targeted by an offer sheet.

We likely won't know more until the Sabres announce a new general manager, and in fact Lehner himself appears to be in the dark about what the future holds for him in Buffalo.
