National Hockey League veteran Daniel Winnik has bounced around quite a bit during his NHL career, and it looks like he may have earned one more year in the league on a brand new team.
According to a report from Minnesota Wild insider Mike Russo of The Athletic, Winnik's agent, Pat Morris, and Minnesota Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher are currently negotiating a new deal for Winnik.
Winnik came to the Wild's training camp on a professional tryout offer, and unsurprisingly he showcased the skills that have always enabled him to find a spot on an NHL roster, although there is just one complication.
The Wild are currently tight against the cap, and according to Russo salary cap space is currently at a premium for Fletcher. While the two sides have shown mutual interest, it will be interesting to see if they can work out a deal under those constraints.
