The Toronto Maple Leafs have a day off on Sunday as they travel from Boston, after a very tough loss to the Boston Bruins on Saturday night, to Los Angeles where they will face off against the struggling Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday.

Although the players and coaches have the day off as they travel the work of a general manager is never done and Leafs' GM Kyle Dubas is no exception. According to a report from Maple Leafs beat writer Terry Koshan of the Toronto Sun, Dubas is set to make a transaction either today or in the early hours of Monday morning in order to get another forward into his line up. Koshan expects that whoever it is that Dubas decides to call up from the Maple Leafs' American Hockey League affiliate team, The Toronto Marlies, they will be expected to be in the line up on time for Monday's practice.

The question now becomes which Toronto Marlies will be summoned to join the Leafs main roster, and although we have no way of knowing which player it is that Dubas will eventually call up, Koshan was willing to hazard a guess that does seem to make a lot of sense. Koshan has speculated that 23 year old undrafted forward Trevor Moore could be that man and that additionally he could potentially even make his debut in the National Hockey League in Los Angeles againstt he Kings.

There are a couple of reasons for Koshan informed speculation here, the first and foremost being that Moore has played rather well for the Marlies thus far this season. Dubas is very close to the Marlies organization and he's going to be well aware of the fact that through 12 games in the AHL this season Moore has produced 8 goals and 3 assists for nearly a point per game pace with 11 total points. There's another reason however and this was the one cited by Koshan, the fact that Moore is actually a native of the state of California. Moore was born in Thousand Oaks California and injecting him into the line up would not only potentially give him his first chance at the NHL, it would allow him to do so on home soil against a Kings' team that has not looked good this season.
