Rumors: more signs point to where Tavares will end up...

New York Islanders captain John Tavares may be saying he wants to head into the upcoming season without any distraction, but he has offered a big one to all Isles fans out there...

As you know the Islanders are heading into the new season with Tavares set to become an unrestricted free agent next summer as both sides haven’t come to an agreement on signing an extension. If it remains as is, the 26-year-old will hit the market next July, and every rival team will want to bring him into the fold. 

NBC’s Pierre McGuire has repeated on Friday that Tavares will end up with the Buffalo Sabres. 

The forward would choose the Sabres, over the Montreal Canadiens, a team he has been linked to several time since the start of speculations… Tavares has already been in Buffalo, where he followed in the footsteps of his uncle John Tavares and was a ball boy for his uncle's National Lacrosse League team, the Buffalo Bandits.
