Rumors of a possible three-way trade involving Matt Duchene?

There have already been some big trades this week in the National Hockey League and it's just Tuesday, but this would likely eclipse them all.

Yesterday we reported on a rumor that came from TSN insider Darren Dreger, one that had the Islanders suddenly in the mix as a dark horse candidate to acquire Colorado Avalanche forward Matt Duchene. Dreger believed that Islanders defenseman Travis Hamonic could be in play and on Tuesday morning he dropped yet another bombshell.

While Dreger appeared to be merely speculating, considering the difficulty required to pull off such a trade, he questioned whether or not the Islanders and Avalanche could be looking at the possibility of adding another team to the mix for a three-way-trade.

Dreger believes Matt Duchene is now eager to move on from the Avalanche, and we know for a fact Travis Hamonic has previously asked to be traded from the Islanders, although he has reportedly rescinded that request, so this deal makes a lot of sense on the surface.
