While it's no secret that a number of quality veteran goaltenders, such as New York Islander Jaroslav Halak and Pittsburgh Penguin Marc-Andre Fleury, have been on the trading block this season, it now sounds like it's Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop that is getting all the attention on the trade market.
On Tuesday during a radio interview, Sportsnet insider Ellioitte Friedman stated that Bishop was the name he was hearing over and over again.
“The name I’m hearing the most now is Ben Bishop,” relayed Friedman as per Fanrag Sports. “I don’t know what’s going to happen there, but I have a feeling that Tampa is ready to send him somewhere else and give Vasilevskiy the net. I think there are teams out there thinking that Ben Bishop rejuvenated can make a difference."
It sounds like Friedman believes this deal will get done, it may merely be a question of Tampa Bay waiting it out in order to get the best possible deal before they move him.
"I think the biggest issue is going to be what’s the price. I think Tampa would like to get better offers than they’re getting.”
