RUMOUR: Bruins to announce coaching staff changes
Keystone Press

Just one day after officially naming interim head coach Bruce Cassidy as the team’s official head coach, the Boston Bruins appear on the verge of finalizing the rest of their coaching staff, as well. Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe reported earlier today that the Bruins will retain the services of assistant coaches Jay Pandolfo, Joe Sacco and Bob Essensa. It’s also expected that Cassidy will announce another assistant in the offseason.

All three assistants served under former Bruins head coach Claude Julien, but given the team’s tremendous turnaround for the Bruins with Cassidy and his assistants behind the bench the decision was made to keep the current staff in place for 2017-18.

Pandolfo returns to Boston for just his second season as Bruins assistant coach, while Sacco will assume the position for a fourth consecutive season. Essensa? He’s been a staple of the organization for over 10 seasons.
