Rumour: Shane Doan to return to the NHL?

The man himself has confirmed he could be back!

We see this rumour and can’t help but thinking of the Arizona Coyotes and how badly they would need this. We explain: Shane Doan is looking into joining an NHL front office.

The former player, who spent all of his 21-year career in Arizona (or their predecessor Winnipeg Jets) and retired back in the summer of 2017, made the revelation himself on Cam and Strick podcast.

And it would only make sense if the Coyotes were frontrunners to land Down in their front office, and come on, you know the timing could not be any better.

It has been a tough couple of season in Arizona, and the front office took many blows in the past month, parting ways with former general manager John Chayka and getting punished as the NHL revoked draft picks in their cheating scandal.

There is no doubt that adding Doan to the club would help its public image and steer the ship back in the right direction.

It is also clear that Doan could bring a lot to the Coyotes or any other team in the NHL for that matter. Should we mention that the Seattle Kraken could use him as well? While there are no rumours (as of now) on where Doan would land (and it is quite easy to assume he’d prefer to return to the Yotes) we know that the former star forward knows the game in and out and could work his way up the ladder easily. What we meant by that is that he may not be a top candidate to land the GM opening in Arizona, but who knows what might happen once he gets going in the front office!?

We cannot wait to hear more chatter about this and see one team (this is your cue, Coyotes) offer a job to Doan. The guy is a legend and we assume he would be just as great off the ice than he was on it!
