Russian powerhouse team continues to tear up KHL

It just doesn't seem fair.

The hockey club SKA Saint Petersburg is off to another hot start in the KHL, sitting atop league standings with a 5-0-0 record.

The team is powered by former NHL superstars Pavel Datsyuk and Ilya Kovalchuk, while supporting cast members such as Sergei Shirokov, Nikita Gusev, Evgeny Dadonov and Slava Voynov are all tremendous assets. The team recently wrapped up its second Gagarin Cup triumph in three seasons. For those unfamiliar with the Gagarin Cup, it's similar to the Stanley Cup in the NHL, which is awarded to the winner of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The powerhouse squad lost just eight times in regulation last season and are undefeated to start 2017-18.

The chemistry of Datsyuk and Kovalchuk alone is enough to inject fear into opposing teams every night.

Is there any reason they won't repeat again in 2017-18?
