Ryan Kesler taunts Ryan Johansen in comments to the media hours before the game.

Nashville Predators forward Ryan Johansen went after Anaheim Ducks veteran agitator Ryan Kesler pretty hard when he made comments about Kesler's play and brought his family and friends into the mix, but now Ryan Kesler is firing shots of his own just hours before puck drop.

Johansen kicked things off when he made these comments after Nashville's Gamed 2 loss:

“His family and friends watching him play, I don’t know how you cheer for a guy like that,” Johansen said as per the Tennessean. "It just doesn’t make sense how he plays the game. I’m just trying to go out there and play hockey, and it sucks when you’ve got to pull a stick out of your groin every shift."

While Johnasen was not available for comment on Tuesday, Kesler happily greeted the press and sent a very deliberate jab at Johansen.

“Obviously it seemed like he was a bit rattled," Kesler said. "I’m just going to go out and play my game like I always do.

“I play the game hard. I know he doesn’t like it now, and I’m not going to let up just because he said something."

Whether you love or hate Ryan Kesler his job out there is to rattle his opposition and if he is in fact getting under the skin of Johansen that means he's doing his job well. Besides according to Kesler there is no love between the two men and there never will be.

"I think it was a bit (personal), but doesn’t matter. He’s not my friend. He’s not going to be my friend. He can say whatever he wants.”
