No doubt about it, Ryan Miller has been a stellar goaltender for the Vancouver Canucks the past three seasons. But, with his three-year contract expiring over the weekend and the Canucks headed in a different direction, you can’t blame the 36 year-old veteran for signing a new deal with the Anaheim Ducks.

Given Vancouver’s tumultuous goaltending history, it’s been refreshing to see how Miller, the team and his fans have taken the news. In fact, Miller himself took to Twitter to thank Vancouver fans for the past three seasons and even included a heart-warming clip of his son signing ‘O Canada.’

How sweet is that? While Miller and his wife, actress Noreen DeWulf, are both American citizens, their son was born during their stint in Vancouver, and, as Miller explains, Canada will always have a place in their heart.
