Ryan Strome finally gets a new deal but his bad season may have cost him.

It was a deal that many expected to get done earlier this summer, and while it took a great deal of time to work out, Ryan Strome finally does have a new contract.

The New York Islanders announced on Tuesday that they had signed Ryan Strome to a two-year deal and while the organization did not disclose the financial terms of the deal a report from Arthur Staple of Newsday has revealed it's worth a total of $5 million.

This is likely a much smaller payday than Strome had been hoping for prior to the start of the 2015-2016 season, a season that saw his performance drop from 50 points the previous here, by almost half to 28 points in this most recent season.

This two-year deal will be a chance for him to turn his career around and potentially earn himself a bigger payday coming off the back of this bridge deal, for the Islanders they likely weren't willing to commit more term to a player who showed such a drastic decline in just one season.
