Sabres recall experienced defenseman
Keystone Press

The Buffalo Sabres called up defenseman Zach Redmond, the team announced on Tuesday. We don't know if he will be in the lineup tonight to face the Washington Capitals. He played two games with the Sabres this season, without registering a point. In seven games played in the AHL, he registered five points.

Redmond, 29, was drafted 184th overall by the Atlanta Trashers in 2008. The Sabres acquired him from the Montreal Canadiens earlier this season in return of forward Nicolas Deslauriers. The Traverse City, Michigan native played 132 games in the NHL with the Sabres, the Canadiens, the Winnipeg Jets and the Colorado Avalanche, registering 38 points. He spent most of his career in the AHL, where he registered 123 points in 232 games played (regular season and playoff games included).
