Sad plea from former top 10 NHL defenseman...
Keystone Press

Several unrestricted free agents in the National Hockey League are still waiting for the phone to ring and some are letting their agents handle the situation.

However, a former top 10 defenseman is trying to take matters in his own hands, by using social media to sell his services.

James Wisniewski used his personal Twitter account on Tuesday to remind teams that he is still looking for a job opportunity, either in the National Hockey League or for the upcoming Olympics.

The veteran had recently told The Athletic "he is feeling more like an unwanted free agent than an unrestricted one..." but couldn't believe his career might be the case. Three seasons ago, he recorded 44 assists and 51 points with the Blue Jackets, which put him top 10 in the NHL among defensemen, ahead of Brent Burns

We shall see if a few teams looking to add depth of their blue line might want to give him a shot... Let's keep an eye on his Twitter account...
