Sam Gagner scores a sizzling shootout winner against the Bruins.

It may only be the preseason but you could definitely feel it in the air last night, the National Hockey League is back.

As one would expect it was difficult to take much of anything away from any of these preseason contests, especially with some teams fielding more of their NHL rosters than others, leading to some lopsided games, but there were still a few notable moments.

Perhaps at the very top of the list or at least close to it was the shootout  goal scored by Columbus Blue Jackets forward Sam Gagner, a goal that would be the game winner giving Columbus the victory of the Boston Bruins.

Preseason or not, these moves from Gagner were nasty.
