Youth movement in effect in Vancouver
The Canucks surprised many by reaching 100 points last season.
They did add Radim Vrbata who made an early impact playing with the Twins but they hadnt added much else and people were worried they couldnt match up against the power houses in the West. Much of the same this year. Eddie Lack and Nick Bonino are gone and all they added was Sutter and Prust. They got rid of a pain in Kassian and we can already see the Habs are fed up of him.
So where does all of this leave the Canucks?
Well there is one positive, the youth movement seems to be in full effect. 3 top prospects have cracked the lineup : Jared McCann, Jake Virtanen and Ben Hutton. Add to those 3 Bo Horvat who is only in his second year and you have a bunch of young player looking to prove what they can bring to the Canucks. Horvat already showed the Canucks what he could do last season but will look to progress and do even more this season. The Sedin`s are always relaible but they can`t be the only offense the Cancuks have so the young guys will have to chip in consistantly as well. That was a key issue last season, secondary scoring. If they can get the secondary scoring they need this season, the Canucks might have another good season.
