Senators trying to trade Phaneuf at the draft, sounds like it may happen.

There are some big juicy rumors involving the Ottawa Senators at the draft.

According to a breaking news report from TSN insider Darren Dreger the Senators are "still trying to move" veteran defenseman Dion Phaneuf, and furthermore it appears that some of the teams on his limited approved list of trade targets have some interest in the deal. 

While it was clear that the Senators were trying to trade Phaneuf for the purpose of protecting an extra player at the Expansion Draft, the fact that they are still trying to trade him now comes as quite the surprise. 

No word from Dreger on which teams may be involved, or in regards to what kind of return the Senators can expect from an aging defenseman with a big contract, but we may end up finding out before the night is over.
