It sounds like the Minnesota Wild do not expect Wild forward Zach Parise to be ready to go for the playoffs, and furthermore it sounds like there are some real concerns about his back injury.

In a recent report for the Star Tribune Minnesota Wild insider Mike Russo revealed that it was an existing back injury, aggravated by a bad fall, that has kept him sidelined, and could potentially keep him sidelined for some time.

From the Star Tribune's Mike Russo:

Parise was diagnosed with a herniated disk that was pressing on a nerve in January. He played through the injury while getting treatment and cortisone injections. But since being tripped last week by Sharks center Logan Couture, Parise has experienced tingling in his legs and numbness in his feet, sources say.

Furthermore according to Russo, Parise was spotted at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester on Monday and although he did not speculate on a timetable for Parise's return, one would imagine with a visit of that nature he could potentially miss multiple games.
