According to multiple online reports, the San Jose Sharks will be without forward Tomas Hertl and defenseman Erik Karlsson for tonight’s elimination game against the St. Louis Blues. Also, captain Joe Pavelski will be a game time decision.

“Hertl, Karlsson no… not on the trip. Pavelski, gametime,” said Sharks head coach Pete DeBoer to the media earlier today.

Ouch… that’s a HUGE blow to the Sharks’ chances tonight. While Karlsson has been clearly labouring this series, he’s still a dynamic playmaker with game changing skill. And Hertl… well aside from maybe Logan Couture, he’s been the team’s best player this postseason with 10 goals and 15 points in 19 games. Losing either of these players, let alone BOTH, of these players is obviously a tough pill for the Sharks to swallow.

Pavelski, who has four goals and nine points in 14 playoff games is also a gametime decision. Double ouch.
