Shea Weber takes a puck to the face, is forced to leave the game

Things are getting UGLY in tonight’s contest between the Montreal Canadiens and Minnesota Wild.

Early in the first period of tonight’s contest Habs forward Kenny Agostino laid an ugly late hit on Wild forward Eric Fehr that… well basically it made all Hell break loose.

Here’s the hit in question:

That’s UGLY… but even uglier, here’s another look at the hit:

It’s even uglier from that angle! At best this is a late hit, at worst it’s boarding… in reality it’s both and it’s no surprise that Agostino was handed a five minute major and a game misconduct.

Later in the period Habs captain Shea Weber took a Mikael Granlund shot to the face and has not returned to action.

The team has now confirmed that Weber will NOT return to action for tonight’s game. Interestingly enough, Weber played the rest of the first period, but did not join his team for the second period.

More details to come as they emerge.
