Shea Weber tells difference between Rinne, Price.

One of the biggest transaction in recent memory happened only a few months ago when Shea Weber was traded to Montreal in exchange of P.K. Subban. Since then, a LOT of things have been said about the trade, but in the end P.K. is still playing and Shea is golfing.

Anyhow, Habs insider Arpon Basu tweeted a series of interesting tweets about how Shea Weber had to adjust to Carey Price compared to Pekka Rinne.

Spoke to Shea Weber about the difference in puck handling between Carey Price and Pekka Rinne and he made an observation that I've noticed.

Weber said Price gets it off his stick to a defenceman's stick quickly and efficiently. Rinne tends to hold it longer, draw a defender.

Said it was an adjustment because with Price you get it quicker, which is good, but forechecker has time to adjust and is on you quicker too

With Rinne you have to wait a bit longer to get it, but you have more time to make a decision once you do. Found it interesting.

I've definitely noticed Rinne practically daring forecheckers to take the puck off him at times. It's riskier but buys time for teammates.

This is very interesting, as Rinne and Price are among the best goalies in the league and practice a very different style. Weber had to change his own style to fit better in Montreal and how the system is built around Price.
