Defenseman Rasmus Dahlin has been the projected No. 1 overall pick for the upcoming NHL Entry Draft all season, but the Swedish Olympic team did not act like he was on Thursday.

The 17-year-old projected first overall pick was a healthy scratch for Sweden's Olympic opener against Norway on Thursday.

While many fans were shocked to see Dahlin watch his fellow countrymen from the press box, Sweden did just fine without the star defender as they cruised to a 4-0 victory over Norway.

All eyes have been on Dahlin as he has tallied six goals and 17 points in 35 game with Frolunda in the Swedish Hockey League before the start of the Winter Games tournament.

The young blue liner could be inserted in the lineup on Friday when the Swedes face off against Germany in Group C action.
