Shocking rumor of Price being traded out of Montreal!
KeyStone Press

There is a sense of madness and chaos in Montreal, not only because of the Canadiens' poor start to the season, but also because of GM Marc Bergevin's recent moves, the many confusing injury reports and the atmosphere in the dressing room.

Goalie Carey Price added to the mayhem earlier this week, when he spoke to the media about his mysterious lower-body injury that has prevented him for plaiting the last six games and allowed young netminder Charlie Lindgren to take over between the pipes. Price added that Lindgren's success lets him take his time with the injury, though he would be in uniform in the Habs were in the playoffs.

His comments created a lot of controversy not only in the dressing room, but across the city where fans are wondering what the heck is going on. RDS’ Normand Flynn told host Tony Marinaro on Montreal's TSN 690, that he wouldn’t be surprised if the Canadiens traded Price soon. He made sure to remind us all that the Canadiens and Price haven’t been forthcoming regarding the goaltender’s injury status.

Flynn, who did not cite any sources on his rumor report, even added that the move could take place as early as next week. On a more worrisome note, Flynn pointed out that Price could be suffering from mental fatigue.

In the meanwhile, the Habs claimed veteran goalie Antti Niemi off waivers on Wednesday...

What is going on? Fans are looking for answers and a trade would be a complete shock. But let's not forget that Bergevin think what was once the unthinkable by moving defenseman P.K. Subban...

All bets are off!
