Shocking Statement From EX NHL Players on Tkachuk Suspension Raises Controversy

The sequence was undeniable, a high-flying elbow was used to injure Doughty. Matthew Tkachuk delivered a very dangerous hit on Drew Doughty. After the game, when interrogated about his rival, Drew had this to say.

“He’s a pretty dirty player, that kid. To be a rookie and play like that is a little surprising.”

Former Calgary Flames Player Theo Fleury totally went to the opposite side when asked to comment on Tkachuk’s hit.

“I love it,” said Theo Fleury

He followed by saying some other players on the Flames’ roster should watch and learn from the sequence that cost Tkachuk a two-game suspension.

Johnny Gaudreau needs to take a lesson from him,” Fleury added. “Johnny can be neutralized because of his size. If he were a little meaner with his stick and elbows, he might get a little more room out there.

Theo Fleury played 1084 games in the NHL. He scored 455 goals and registered 633 for a total 1088 points.
