Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby briefly left Game 4 of the Penguins second round series against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night.

Crosby appeared to be injured, perhaps to his hand or thumb, after he was the victim of a slash from Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin. It initially appeared that the injury could be significant as Crosby appeared furious on his way to the lock room, seemingly smashing his stick against the wall in a fit of rage.

It's unclear if Crosby was given something to allow him to play through the pain, or if the injury was not as serious as he originally believed, but Crosby would eventually make his way back to the Penguins bench after being evaluated in the back.
