Tonight with his assist on Kris Letang's first goal, Sidney Crosby became the 10th fastest player in NHL history to reach the 900 point mark.

Considering the slow start he had this season, Sid the Kid has turned it on as of late. He is currently on a 10 game point streak and he has 18 points during that streak.

Crosby has turned his season around and has shown the consistency that has made him reach the 900 point mark so quickly. It only took him 677 games to reach the milestone. If not for injuries, we could only guess how quickly he could have reach 900 points. He also did it in typical Crosby fashion. Scores the game tying goal with only 1:15 left in the game and has the first assists on the Kris Letang goals, one of which set up Letang to score the overtime winner.

Star players know when they need to take charge. With Evgeni Malkin out of the lineup, Sid had to pick up the slack. He did that perfectly last night.
