Two months ago, Memphis Savage, a five-year-old little boy from Vancouver, was diagnosed with two tumours in his brain.

Memphis is a huge hockey fan and he grows up watching the Vancouver Canucks with his dad. It’s his favorite team because he said he likes their blue uniforms. When it comes to his favorite players, without hesitating he mentioned Sidney Crosby.

“If the game is on, he’s always asking, ’where’s Sidney?” said his Father.

Soon after receiving the diagnosis, Memphis’ father wrote an email to the Pittsburgh Penguins asking if they could realize Memphis’ dream of meeting his forever Idole Sidney Crosby.

“On Saturday, Memphis, Savage, Savage’s grandfather and his uncle were ushered into a 21st-floor suite at a downtown Vancouver hotel to meet Crosby. When Crosby walked in, the adults were tongued-tied. It was Memphis, dressed in a black shirt, black pants, and Nike trainers, who took charge, extending his hand to the Penguins captain, saying ‘my name is Memphis. Nice to meet you, sir.’ Reported the Vancouver Sun on this touching moment.

Crosby reportedly spent 45 minutes with the young boys and left him with a really hopeful quote: ‘I heard you’re a fighter. You just keep fighting, OK?’ said Crosby.
