Sidney Crosby with one of the worst fails of the year on Friday night.

Most professional athletes will tell you that after a bad play they just push it out of their mind, but something tells us Sidney Crosby might still be kicking himself for this one.

The Pittsburgh Penguins captain missed a golden opportunity to tie the game for his team which was down a goal to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday night. Crosby was gifted what should have been a sure-fire goal after a picture perfect pass from teammate Patric Hornqvist left him with a completely wide open net.

To make matters worse, as the broadcast team in this video correctly point out, Crosby had a ton of time on the play, and could have easily settled the puck on his stick before very slowly, and carefully putting it into the net. Unfortunately this is what he did instead:
