It's no secret that the Colorado Avalanche are looking to make deals and as a result teams are deploying their scouts to get a very close look at their players.

On Thursday night two teams were spotted scouting the Avalanche with both the Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes having staff on hand at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado to watch the Avs take on the Pittsburgh Penguins according to Bleacher Report's Adrian Dater.

Dater believes that the Hurricanes are "on the short list" of teams that can actually made a trade with the Avalanche, and ESPN insider Pierre LeBrun appeared to echo that sentiment when he added that he believes the Hurricanes defense does in fact have the interest of the Avalanche.

The Bruins on the other hand just fired their head coach, and they may be looking for that one final piece that will push them into the postseason.
