Six teams move up in updated Stanley Cup odds.

There has been a ton of action as far as the Stanley Cup playoffs are concerned over the past week and as a result oddsmakers have updated their odds for who they believe are the teams most likely to win it all this season. It should come as no surprise to anyone that the clear favorites remain the same, however the movement on some of these lines shows either increasing or decreasing confidence in the respective teams involved in the tournament. 

The three teams who made the biggest jump up in the eyes of the oddsmakers are the Las Vegas Golden Knights, the Boston Bruins, and most of all the New York Islanders. The Golden Knights have taken a commanding 3 - 1 series lead over the Chicago Blackhawks and have jumped from a 6.5 : 1 favorite to a 3.5 : 1 favorite, the Bruins managed to pick up a win without goaltender Tuukka Rask and without forward David Pastrnak and that has improved the confidence of oddsmakers with the Bruins jumping from 9 : 1 favorites to 7 : 1 favorites, and least but not least the 3 - 0 stranglehold the Islanders have managed to take over the Washington Capitals has resulted in their odds going from 25 : 1 all the way down to 11: 1, a staggering leap up in odds. 

Of course this means that there have to be teams that have plummeted down the chart as well and given what we have just told you it should comes as no surprise that the Washington Capitals have seen a catastrophic fall to the bottom end of the chart. Previously considered to be among the middle of the pack teams at 14: 1 odds the Capitals now found themselves looking at 100 : 1 odds to win the cup, a massive longshot by any stretch of the imagination. Similarly the Blackhawks, who were previously at 25 : 1, have now plummeted to the lowest position on the chart with 250 : 1 odds, effectively needing a miracle in the eyes of the oddsmakers. Another team taking a big hit this week were the Columbus Blue Jackets who went from 30 : 1 down to 80 : 1 and joining them there are the Arizona Coyotes who were previously at 40 : 1 odds.
