The Boston Bruins got some good news on Saturday morning, but it might not be good enough.

First, according to a report from National Hockey League insider Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk was back out on the ice with the Bruins on Saturday morning during the Bruins morning skate. That is of course a positive sign for the Bruins who have been without Grzelcyk ever since he took a hit to the head from St. Louis Blues forward Oskar Sundqvist earlier in the Stanley Cup Final, however it was not all good news at the morning skate.

Lavoie also reported on Saturday morning that although Grzelcyk was out on the ice with his teammates he was also sporting a red non contact jersey which does not bode well for Game 6 of this series. Of course it is still possible that Grzelcyk will be ready to go come tomorrow night, however a red contact jersey usually tends to indicate that a player is still at least a couple of days away from being able to return to action. The Bruins have since confirmed Lavoie's initial report by publishing a video that shows Grzelcyk out on the ice in the red contact jersey.

If you are looking for a silver lining here it is the fact that Grzelcyk has in fact traveled with the team to St. Louis, an indication that the Bruins are not ruling him out entirely just yet. That being said the red contact jersey is a sign that the Bruins will need to win Game 6 and force a Game 7 back in Boston if they want a chance to get Matt Grzelcyk back in the line up.

That news is made all the more difficult to swallow for fans of the Boston Bruins due to the fact that the St. Louis Blues had some good news of their own from practice on Saturday morning. According to a report we published earlier today it appears that the St. Louis Blues will have veteran forward Robert Thomas back in their line up for Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Stay tuned for up to date information on all the potential line up changes ahead of Game 6.
