It's been a relatively quiet season for the often controversial Evander Kane, outside of one minor incident that resulted in a one game team imposed suspension, Kane has kept his name out of the negative headlines, something that caused him and his former team, the Winnipeg Jets, a great deal of headaches in the past.

However Kane's season will end on a down note despite his improved attitude this season, as the Buffalo Sabres have just announced that Kane will be shut down for the rest of the season as a result of the injury that kept him out of this week's match up against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Sabres head coach Dan Bylsma confirmed the news on Thursday and according to the coach it's an upper-body injury, and he expects it will take Kane three to four weeks to fully recover from whatever it is. I suppose the silver lining here is with Buffalo already eliminated, fielding a lesser team every night can actually benefit you, and furthermore Kane's injury isn't so long term that it will impact his preparation for next season.
