A report out of Boston has revealed the sordid details surrounding the arrest of National Hockey League legend Ray Bourque.

Following that arrest Bourque was scheduled to appear in court on Monday and according to a report from the Boston Globe he did just that pleading not guilty to the charges steaming from his DUI.

Here are some of the more damning details against Bourque from the Boston Globe:

Bourque, 55, of Boxford, was arrested Friday night in Andover after his car struck a minivan on Route 133 at about 11:30 p.m. He was charged with operating under the influence of liquor and following too closely to another vehicle, police said in a statement Saturday. No one was injured in the crash.

Bourque’s blood alcohol level after the crash was .249, according to a police report filed in court. That level is more than three times the legal limit of .08.

The report said that Bourque’s speech was slurred, he smelled of alcohol, he was unsteady on his feet, and he was swaying side to side.

It's a damning case against the Hockey Hall of Famer but perhaps the most compelling evidence against him was what the police report claims is Bourque's own admission of guilt.

“I had a few drinks at the Andover Country Club,” said Bourque as per the Boston Globe.

Despite the evidence against him Bourque appears confident and his legal representation requested rushed proceedings with another court date will soon follow on July 21st.

He has also issued a public apology which you can read here.
