Many more people lose their jobs today…

It feels like the cleanup was not over at Sportsnet…

The summer was rough employees on Sportsnet as - I am sure you remember - many cuts were made ahead of the 2019-20 season opener.

Longtime NHL insider Nick Kypreos parted ways with the Rogers owned broadcaster. Then there was the departures of fellow Hockey Central panelist John Shannon and veteran Doug MacLean, all blows to the hockey crowd.

On Tuesday, Sportsnet went back for more, as Sportsnet 650, the radio home of the Vancouver Canucks, cut more staff.

Per Patrick Johnson of The Vancouver Province, “Rick Dhaliwal, an industry veteran known for landing news scoops through his deep connections across the world of hockey and football, is among the people being let go.”

“Jawn Jang, who co-hosted the mid-morning show alongside Satiar Shah, confirmed to Postmedia News he has been let go.”

This is all we know for now. A spokesperson for Sportsnet said further details would be available later in the day.
