Stamkos once again highly critical of his fellow Lightning players.

Tampa Bay Lightning star, captain, and soon to be free agent Steven Stamkos has been openly critical of his teammates as of late, and after a tough loss against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night he again publicly challenged his fellow players.

Stamkos refered to some players as passengers, and furthermore called them out for letting down the members of the team who were showing up late in the season.

"We just had too many passengers," said Stamkos as per Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times. "We're at a point of the season where that can't happen. There's no excuses here. It's look-yourself-in-the-mirror time. If you're not giving the effort, you're letting your teammates down."

This time however Stamkos wasn't alone in challenging his teammates, netminder Ben Bishop also challenged members of the Lightning roster for not "walking the walk."

"There are a lot of people talking the talk, not many guys walking the walk," Bishop said of his team. "We've got five games left, and we'll figure it out."

The Lightning took a big gamble in keeping Stamkos who will be a free agent at the end of the season, and a slump heading into the playoffs could cost the team much more than just a quick exit from the playoffs.
