Stamkos To Tavares: “Don't Stir The Pot” On Twitter

The Steven Stamkos unrestricted free agent saga came to a stop during the offseason when he re-signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Another prominent player and team captain, John Tavares of the New York Islanders, will be an UFA this summer and Stamkos has offered his advice:

“Don’t stir the pot accidentally. Be careful,” he told ESPN in reference to Tavares’ Twitter presence.

According to The Score, Stamkos had accidentally “liked” an article linking him to the Toronto Maple Leafs, which evidently caused quite a stir on social media. Reportedly, Tavares has publicly declared that he intends on sticking around with the Isles and sign an extension before next summer.
