Star forward sick of losing, calls out his entire team for their poor performance.

Some bold words from a young NHL star.

One of the National Hockey League's brightest young stars is not at all happy with the way his team has been performing this season, and despite his youth he is stepping up to the plate and calling out his entire roster in a major way.

A report from John Vogl of the Buffalo News described former second overall pick Jack Eichel as "furious" following yet another loss from the Buffalo Sabres, and considering Eichel called out literally every member of his team, we're ready to believe it.

“As a whole team, everyone needs to look in the mirror and we all need to get a lot better,” said Eichel as per the Buffalo News. “I think I speak for the team in saying that we’re all frustrated with where we’re at, and I don’t think I’m the only person in the locker room that’s not satisfied.”

When he was asked which aspects of the Sabres' game he feels need the most improvement Eichel was adamant about the fact that there was room for improvement in all of them.

“Everything,” Eichel said. “Power play, we had a five-on three, we don’t score. It’s not good enough. Penalty kill, we continue to put pucks on the other team’s stick on the kill. It’s not good enough. Five-on-five, we don’t score enough goals either.”

Perhaps most poignant of all however was Eichel's challenge regarding thbe excuses that have been tossed around for the Sabres poor performance, excuses that Eichel is tired of hearing.

“I don’t think as a group that we should be blaming what’s going on on line changes and injuries because every team deals with it. Obviously with us we’ve had some key players injured at key times in the year and have not played 100 percent as a team in the two years that I’ve been here, which is frustrating.

There are those who will label this a tantrum from a spoiled player, but this is exactly the kind of competitive fire we would want to see from a young player that is destine to be one of the leaders on this team.
