Star goaltender pulled after giving up 3 goals on just 12 shots.

One of the NHL's best gets yanked early.

It was a rough night for Washington Capitals star goaltender Braden Holtby.

Holtby barely lasted a full period on Monday when the Capitals faced off against the New York Islanders at the Barclays Center, getting himself pulled after just twelve shots on goal.

That's because Holtby allowed three goals on those twelve shots, that's an abysmal .750 save percentage for those of you keep track, but the final goal had to be the one that stung.

Holtby was left without much of a chance to make a play after the Capitals defense somehow left captain John Tavares, the most dangerous player on the Islanders roster, all alone alongside of the net.

Not a good night for a goalie as good as Holtby.
