The Dallas Stars and their fanbase collectively held their breath on Friday night during the All-Star Faster Skater competition.

Rookie Miro Heiskanen was a participant in the event, competing against U.S. women’s national team player Kendall Coyne, replacing Colorado Avalanche centre Nathan MacKinnon, Columbus Blue Jackets’ Cam Atkinson, New York Islanders’ Mat Barzal, Buffalo Sabres’ Jack Eichel, Arizona Coyotes’ Clayton Keller, Edmonton Oilers’ Connor McDavid and Vancouver Canucks rookie Elias Pettersson.

When it was Heiskanen's time to go up for the race, the kid looked nervous but was ready to go. However, when the second corner showed up, Heiskanen lost his edge and went tumbling into the boards on his "Fastest Skater" attempt.

Everyone became silent, wondering if the rookie was injured.

The Stars defenseman took the time to check his skates and asked to go again, as a sigh of relief was almost heard from the crowd. You bet the Stars management and roster felt relief too.

Heiskanen decided he wanted another shot and went back, finishing in 4th place behind McDavid, Barzal and Eichel.

Here are the times from every competitor:

Connor McDavid 13.378
Jack Eichel 13.582
Mathew Barzal 13.780
Miro Heiskanen 13.914
Elias Pettersson 13.930
Cam Atkinson 14.152
Kendall Coyne Schofield 14.346
Clayton Keller 14.526
