The Stars are hosting the Vegas Golden Knights tonight in Dallas, however key player John Klingberg is missing from action.

And that was unexpected.

Minutes before puck drop against the Knights, team insider Sean Shapiro confirmed that Klingberg has been excused from the game due to personal reasons.

This sounds like he was allowed a personal leave for the moment.

The team might provide an update later tonight or Saturday on what has forced the blue liner out of the game.

Klingberg was active moments before the game on social media as he sent his support to Philadelphia Flyers forward Oskar Lindblom, who was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma, a very rare type of cancerous tumor that grows in your bones or the soft tissue around your bones.

Could it be related? For now, we must wait for additional details from the team.

As for the Stars’ lineup, Taylor Fedun will likely slot into the lineup in his place, and Esa Lindell may assume some second-unit power-play duties.
