The Florida Panthers are developing a bad habit of losing goaltenders to worrisome looking injuries.

During Sunday afternoon's matchup between the Panthers and Minnesota Wild, Panthers backup goaltender Al Montoya was forced to leave the game in the first period after colliding with Wild defenseman Marco Scandella.

The 31-year-old goalie appears to take Scandella's elbow to the head as he gets shoved by Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad.Montoya remained on the ice for several moments before exiting with help from the trainer.

Scandella was assessed a minor penalty on the play, but it didn't appear as though he meant to make contact with Montoya after getting pushed.

Roberto Luongo was supposed to have the night off, but has entered the game in relief of Montoya.
