We showcased this hit a few nights ago when it originally happened, but these recent comments from Ottawa Senators forward Mark Stone, the guy who took the hit, have convinced us to bring it back.

According to a report from the Ottawa Citizen by Senators' insider Bruce Garrioch, Stone will never forget the monster hit he took from Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien. Not only will stone never forget, but he believes it's the hardest hit anyone has ever delivered.

“I think that’s the hardest anyone has ever been hit,” said Stone, speaking on Thursday. “He’s a big man. That’s a big hit. It’s the hardest I’ve ever been hit for sure.”

There's no doubt it was a monster hit, and Stone has not played since, but he believes that seeing Byfuglien coming at the last second may have saved him from being much more seriously injured.

“Everytime you get hit that hard everybody thinks concussion but I’ve got a lot of tightness and I’m just happy I was able to see him at the last second so I was kind of able to brace myself for one of the bigger hits you’ve ever seen.

For those of you who missed it here's a look at the hit from multiple angles.
